A senior adviser to Afghan President Hamid Karzai has been murdered at his home near the parliament in Kabul, a senior government official told the media on Sunday.

Ahmed Wali Karzai, the younger brother of Afghan President Hamid Karzai and a hugely powerful if controversial figure in southern Afghanistan, was assassinated at his home on Tuesday, officials said.
