Poll push for ‘visible’ work in colonies
With only few months left for the Assembly elections, the city Congress government is trying its best to garner votes from recently regularised unauthorised colonies. The city government is planning to clear a proposal in the Cabinet to speed up the halted development works in such colonies. Sources said the government is planning to start development work which is visible immediately.
Teen killed in tiff over kite tangle
A petty quarrel among teenagers over kite flying took an ugly turn on Saturday leaving one dead and another injured. The incident was reported from Harsh Vihar, outer Delhi, where one Rajan Chand, 16, was beaten to death by a group of teenagers after a quarrel over a kite tangle. Dinesh Kumar, 15, a friend of the deceased, also received injuries.
Juvenile nabbed for carjacking
A juvenile has been arrested for his alleged involvement in an armed car robbery, the police said on Sunday.
The police got information about an armed car robbery on July 21 near the Rithala Metro Station.
8-coach trains to run on Dwarka line from today
Delhi Metro’s Dwarka Sec-21 and Noida City Centre Blue Line will deploy its first eight-coach train into commuter services on Monday. “This eight coach train will be introduced from Dwarka Metro station at 8 am on Monday,” a DMRC official said.
