Theft & arson at N. Delhi

The residence of a senior government official was burgled and later set ablaze by unidentified assailants on Saturday night with the police suspecting the involvement of the infamous juvenile leader of the “steal-arson gang” who recently escaped from a rehabilitation home in north Delhi.

Man dies in firing at wedding

A 40-year-old shop owner was shot dead in celebratory firing during a marriage ceremony in west Delhi on Saturday night.
Police officials said the incident took place at around 11.30 pm at an MCD community hall in Budela village of Vikaspuri.

The mutilated body of an unidentified woman was found in Rajouri Garden area of west Delhi on Saturday evening with the police claiming that the deceased was run over by at least 12 vehicles.

Runway to be stretched by 1,000 feet

The civil aviation ministry is planning to increase the length of the runway at Mangalore airport by another 1,000 ft from the present 8,000 ft to 9,000 ft. This comes in the wake of the tragedy at Mangalore on May 22 when an Air India Express aircraft crashed after landing at the airport.

Cairn to step up crude oil output
