In a major breakthrough, British researchers have developed a blood test that can detect cancer even before it develops and can be diagnosed with tests in use at present.

Unique IDs to be rolled out this yr

Claiming that constitution of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was one of the high points of the UPA-2’s first year in office, the government on Tuesday said, the first batch of Unique ID numbers to Indian residents will be rolled out this year only.

Mistake plunges Sensex

RIL’s stock, and the index, recovered almost immediately. It turned out to be a ‘freak trade’. It seems that instead of Rs 1,040.55 a share, the trader punched in Rs 840.55. There is a possibility that the trader punched in the price for ICICI Bank by mistake.

Exports in April expand by 36%

After a robust GDP growth in FY10, the new fiscal began on a positive note with India’s export surging by 36 per cent in April to $16.9 billion
However, what could be worrying is that the trade deficit widened in April due to strong non-oil imports. The imports during the month rose by 43.3 per cent. Due to this the trade deficit increased to $10.4 billion from $7.8 billion in March.
