The Yamuna still flows over the danger mark and its level may rise by Tuesday on account of more than 2 lakh cusecs of water being released from the Hathnikund barrage since Sunday evening.
Dengue remains cause of concern
The number of dengue cases in the city continue to rise constantly but seem to have stabilised with nearly 70 cases being reported on a daily basis. However, civic agencies feel that the “plateauing” of dengue figures was not a matter of relief as a second wave was likely to hit once the water begins receding from the areas which have been inundated by the waters from the overflowing Yamuna.
Rains wash away peak-hour run
The Delhi traffic police lost one more day in connection with the trial run on the dedicated CWG lanes due to heavy rains on Monday. The two-hour trial, set to begin at 4 pm, was going to be the first such trial during the peak hours. The CWG lane trials so far have been carried out during the non-peak hours from 11 am to 1 pm.

Delhi Cabinet eases marriage registration
The Delhi Cabinet has decided to relax the marriage laws, making it possible for couples to get their marriage registered in the capital even if the parents of both the man and woman do not belong to Delhi. Earlier, the parents of either of the two were required to be residents of Delhi for registration of marriage in the city. While the move is likely to help the couples migrating here, it is also supposed to extend help to the couples seeking marriage against family wishes.
