Satyam to focus on South Africa, cricket World Cup
Cashing on the huge marketing coup at Fifa football World Cup, Mahindra Satyam is all set to focus on tapping information technology opportunities in South Africa.
“Thanks to the football World Cup, Mahindra Satyam has become a well-known brand in South Africa. The company expects to benefit from this in tapping the South African IT market,” said Dr M.V. Sridhar, the head of human resources and sports marketing, Mahindra Satyam.
Mahindra Satyam is managing the event — ticketing and accreditions — from onsite in South Africa and offsite in Hyderabad. It is the first Indian company to be a part of Fifa football World Cup.
“We could not have had any bigger project than the football World Cup and we have proved that Mahindra Satyam delivers zero-defect work,” Dr Sridhar said.
Following its goal at the football World Cup, the company is planning to bid for managing accreditations for the cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in 2011.
“We are planning to bid for managing accreditation for the cricket World Cup. And we hope that our good work at the football World Cup will help us in getting associated with the cricket World Cup, which will be happening in our country,” said Dr Sridhar.
Mahindra Satyam is also set to celebrate the success with its entire top brass, including Mr Anand Mahindra and Mr C.P. Gurnani, flying to Johanne-sburg on July 11 to watch the final football match.
