Hybrid cloud is new focus
Hyderabad, Nov. 26: Cloud computing — the future of the information technology — is yet to overcome its teething troubles due to leakage of data stored online, say analysts.
Speaking at a cloud computing summit held here on Friday, heads of several IT and telecom companies talked about their plans to plug the leakage of private information into public domain.
Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, where a user can access program online and store data on the server instead of his local drives.
“Safety of data is paramount and technology is now available to stop leaking of information but it has not been implemented co-mpletely,” an official from an IT company said on the condition of anonymity.
One of the solutions for this problem, the official said, is developing hybrid cloud, which will have both private and public domains. Critical data can be stored on local drives and non-critical can be stored in public domain.
In India, currently, over one lakh small and medium businesses are using cloud technology.
