Food inflation falls to 4-year low of 4.35%
Food inflation fell to a near four-year low of 4.35 per cent for the week ending December 3 due to a fall in the prices of vegetables. This will bring a much-needed respite to consumers facing high food inflation for two years.
Prof. Kaushik Basu, chief economic adviser in the finance ministry, said inflation was “winding down” and hoped it would fall below three per cent in a month.
