EdServ targets 2.5 lakh tablet PC users in next 8-10 months

Chennai-based Education Support Services Company EdServ is targeting 2.5 lakh 'tablet PC' users to download its '2tionPlus' apps over the next 8-10 months through its tie up with Amazon.com, a top official of the company said on Monday.

The company has made tie up with the World’s largest online retailer Amazon.com whereby EdServ’s 2tionPlus Educational apps will be available at Amazon App Stores worldwide, S. Giridharan, chairman and CEO, EdServ told agencies here.

EdServ’s 2tion Plus Education content can be downloaded to any Android Tablet by visiting www.2tionplus.com or directly from Amazon Apps Store.

Amazon App Stores is used by billions of users globally. EdServ’s 2tionPlus is the first social networking collaborative learning application through which students can create study groups and undertake collaborative learning, he said.

Through this tie up, EdServ will provide its education content that includes Tuition, Academics, Skill Development, and Test Prep Services on Android Tablet, he said.

On the response to its earlier tie ups in the mobile space, Giridharan said "already 3 lakh subscribers have downloaded EdServ’s Education Apps through our previous tie ups with Blackberry, Nokia and Samsung Smart Phones."

The Tablet PC is gaining popularity among students and is a growing market for EdServ. With this trend in the mobile and tablet PC space, EdServ will exceed 1million customer base by 2014, he said.

The company was currently in talks with other global tablet PC providers for roping them in to provide education content on tablets, he said.
