Oil prices extended gains in light Asian trade on Tuesday, following a modest rise on Wall Street. New York’s main contract for delivery in August, rose 24 cents to $76.78 a barrel on its last day of trade.

Vedanta Group firm Sesa Goa MD Mr P. K. Mukherjee said on Tuesday said the company’s profit may fall in the second quarter due to the slowing economic activity in China and the prevalent monsoon.
