Audi bosses hit back at Eminem lawsuit

Bosses at the German car giant Audi are trying to wash their hands off the claims that they used rapper Eminem's song without permission, saying that the video was not an advertisement.

The 38-year-old singer had filed a case against the car company in the Hamburg Regional Court in Germany, for using his hit track 'Lose yourself' as a promo for the new Audi A6 Avant.

According to the lawsuit, the song, which was meant for rival car maker Chrysler, was used by Audi without permission, reported Contactmusic.

The film was reportedly unveiled at a recent press event in Berlin.

But an US spokesperson for Audi replied via email as, "The video referred to is not an advertisement. Also, this does not involve Audi of America. The video was not shown here in the US."

Earlier, Eminem's publicist had said, "We believe Audi not only used Lose Yourself to sell their product without permission, but their spot actually feels inspired by elements of Chrysler's commercial campaign."
