Ajit: Disconnect between KF, staff
Civil Aviation minister Ajit Singh has said that there was a big “disconnect” between the Kingfisher Airlines management and employees, even as a large section of employees appear to have rejected the airline’s offer to three months of salary arrears by Diwali (mid-November) and are demanding immediate payment of a minimum of four months’ salary arrears.
Meanwhile aviation think -tank Centre for Asia-Pacific Aviation (CAPA) has said that it would require closer to about $700 million (about `3,500 crore) to “actively re-launch the airline” but admitted that “this was looking less likely.”
CAPA has also said that Kingfisher’s “grounding” could result in a seat-crunch on key routes such as Delhi-Mumbai and Mumbai-Bengaluru particularly during the upcoming Diwali holiday season.
When asked about the grievances of Kingfisher employees, civil aviation minister Ajit Singh told a private TV channel that there was a big disconnect between the management and staff.
Kingfisher Airlines’ employees are demanding that talks be held directly with Kingfisher chairman Vijay Mallya.
