Vivek’s ‘kooky’ item number

Trust Aamir “Mr Perfectionist” Khan to inspire others in the industry with his trend setting moves. Watching Aamir gyrate to the I Hate You number from Delhi Belly, Vivek Oberoi has also decided to appear in an item number — for a Marathi film.

Vivek’s item number however, may have something to do with the fact that the director of the film, Kookie Gulati, is a close friend. In fact, Kookie was also the director of the Vivek-starrer Prince.
“Vivek and Kookie’s friendship goes back a long way,” says a source close to the actor. “Although Prince did not do well at the box office, it did not create friction between them. In fact, they are now planning a sequel.”
So it was that when Kookie suggested that Vivek perform to an item number in his upcoming Marathi film, the actor did not think twice. “Vivek loves to experiment and this was such a peppy number that he just did not want to refuse. Plus, he wanted to do something fun like Aamir in Delhi Belly,” our source adds.
