Vishal confirms Shahid

Director Vishal Bhardwaj seems to have mended fences with his Kaminey actor Shahid Kapoor. For the longest time he was undecided about whom to cast for his upcoming adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet. But the director has confirmed that he has signed Shahid. “We have taken Shahid on board to play the title role of Hamlet. We are still finalising the other details of the project and it’s too early to talk about them,” Vishal said recently.
The film will complete Vishal’s trilogy of Shakespearean tragedies. Speaking of his favourite muse, Vishal says, “Be it drama, suspense or romance, no one can handle it better than Shakespeare.” In spite of his Shakespeare leanings, Vishal has stayed away from one of his greatest plays Romeo and Juliet. “Bollywood has been adapting Romeo and Juliet right from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. There’s nothing left for me to do with it.”
