Vidya to star in her own ‘rockstar’ show

Ekta Kapoor is a shrewd businesswoman, and she knows that a successful business model can be replicated. So when Ekta saw the innovative way in which Imtiaz Ali is having Rockstar promoted (through pan-India concerts featuring A.R. Rahman, Ranbir Kapoor and Mohit Chauhan), she decided that a little bit of emulation was in order for Dirty Picture.
Accordingly, Ekta has conceptualised a series of shows that will recreate the Himmatwala and Maqsad era of Bollywood on stage. The buzz is that Vidya Balan has been asked to brush up on Sridevi’s mannerisms and style of dancing. Tusshar Kapoor, on the other hand, will have his inspiration closer to home in the form of daddy dearest Jeetendra.
“Vidya will begin rehearsing once she has Sridevi’s dance moves down,” our source reveals. “She is still not over her recent illness, and is anxious about the concert as Sridevi has been her idol.”
