Urdu dreams for Bipasha
Bong Bombshell Bipasha Basu has dismissed reports that she has undergone language training to teach herself Urdu. There was a buzz about town recently that Basu was learning Urdu that her forthcoming film Lamhaa, as her character in the film required her to.
Lamhaa is a socio-political drama tackling the issue of militancy in Kashmir and Bipasha plays a Kashmiri Muslim woman in the film.
However, the actress herself has denied these reports. “I hardly learnt any Urdu. The film has been shot in Hindi because we wanted people from all strata of society to understand it. We have not even used Kashmiri in the movie. The film is going to be shown all over the country and everyone has to understand it so we decided to shoot in Hindi,” she said.
Sound recordist Manoj Sikka was roped in to help monitor Bipasha’s diction to ensure its accuracy. Bips confirmed this, saying, “Yes, he helped me as we have used a few Urdu words. In fact, Rahul insisted that we won’t use any other language.”
