Surgery causes a Bigg loss
The country is rejoicing with Salman Khan who has just delivered yet another hit with Bodyguard, but for the Colors channel and the makers of Bigg Boss, it’s resulting in major losses. Post-Bodyguard, Salman left for the US for a facial surgery. But his prolonged absence from the city is sure to delay the filming of the show, which was originally supposed to go on air from September first week.
What’s worse is that the pre-production is ready, housemates have been finalised, co-anchor Sanjay Dutt is waiting and payments have gotten underway. The surgery is now resulting in the entire plan going off-track.
“The channel had blocked the dates of the contestants and Sanjay Dutt. They also have the house in readiness, which is costing them a bomb. Apart from the rent they’re paying for the house, the celebrity housemates have also started charging from the first week of the month,” says a source.
But the people associated with the show are still hopeful. “The channel is concerned about Salman’s health and they want him to recover fully. Losses and the delay is another issue, and unfortunately we have to bear both,” the source adds.
Given what a huge success the show’s first four seasons were, they must hope they can repeat this. If not for anything else, just to recover their costs.
