Sunny to reunite with director of Border
After a whopping 16 years, director J.P. Dutta and actor Sunny Deol are back with the second installment of the Border franchise, based on the real occurrences of the 1971 war. While there was a lot of speculation over the sequel of the 1997 blockbuster, putting all conjectures to rest, the makers have finally roped in Sunny Deol as one of the film’s leads.
Though Sunny essayed the role of a Sikh commanding officer in the original Border, he will not be seen as a Sikh, but will be in a commanding officer’s avatar in Border 2, an adaptation from real life events. Details of the rest of the star cast are under wraps for the moment.
The official spokesperson for Border 2 says, “We are happy to announce that Sunny Deol will be part of Border 2’s star cast. We are still deliberating on the other names. For now, Sunny has been roped in for a pivotal role, since he is an integral part of Border.” Border 2 will go on floors by the end of October.
