SRK wants it young
No one knows the pulse of the young better than Shah Rukh Khan. That’s why during the making of Always Kabhi Kabhi, SRK, who is producing the film, ensured that he was actively involved in all creative aspects. Reportedly, the actor wasn’t too pleased with the way director Roshan Abbas had scripted the film.
“While Roshan thought that his play Graffiti, which he had written and directed in 1999 was ready material for a screen adaptation, Shah Rukh felt the need to make some changes,” says a source from the unit of the film. Since SRK wanted the film to be young in its outlook, he made Roshan rewrite the script. “He was very kind and even complimented Roshan for being so ikhlas (Urdu word for sincere). But he advised him to change the tone of the script so that it appeared younger.”
And Roshan had no objection. “I could see his point. He narrated so many examples of kids from his own family who had a completely different way of conducting themselves. In fact, we joked about our generation being left far behind,” he said.
