Sprained ankle not an issue for PC

This weekend, we realised (yet again) how fragile Priyanka Chopra really is. PC was scheduled to perform at an awards function over the weekend, but while rehearsing for it on the eve of the function, she sprained her ankle. Now the performance itself was ill-timed, as Priyanka was just coming off a strenuous shooting schedule and her health problems have been mounting. The final straw was when she decided to dance wearing high heels. “While rehearsing on Sunday morning, she tumbled a few times and sprained her ankle, halting the rehearsals,” says an eyewitness.
While the accident itself wasn’t very serious, it was bad enough to send the organisers in a tizzy. PC was the star of the evening’s festivities and an ankle injury could seriously jeopardise things. “There was a little problem while rehearsing for the evening’s performance,” confirms Priyanka’s spokesperson. “To perform on stage with a twisted ankle is the toughest thing. But Priyanka insisted that she goes ahead with things.”
Being the professional that she is, PC could never let a minor accident hamper her plans of performing at such a prestigious awards ceremony. “Full marks to Priyanka for commitment. Not only did she pull off her act with aplomb, she even managed to hobble through the rest of the evening and then also attended a party Sanjay Dutt had organised to celebrate the success of Agneepath,” says a source.
Explaining Priyanka’s stance, a member of her staff says, “She is a brave girl and she understands the seriousness of the business. She never lets her work gets affected by her problems. Her immunity against ailments is rather low and unfortunately, she gets infected with diseases very easily.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
