Whether it’s the masses or the multiplex crowd that needs to be wooed, Dibakar Banerjee’s Shanghai may just have all bases covered in the form of its leading men, Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi.

Abhay has seen massive audience appreciation for his role in the youth centric Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara while Emraan is basking in the success of his crowd pleaser Murder 2. So industry sources are expecting that their joint star power should up the interest in Shanghai big time. They have also lauded Dibakar’s instinct in getting these two actors together.
Says man-of-the-moment Abhay, “Can it get more diverse than this? Both Emraan and I have our niche audience. I am glad that Dibakar brought Emraan into Shanghai as he is a fantastic actor.” — JT
