After being seen in a series of films that have “Hollywood inspiration” written all over them, Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan seem to have realised the need to enter desi territory. A step in this direction is Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, the first look of which has just been released.
While Katrina has already established a connect with the desi audience through her Sheila act, Imran has a lot to worry about, considering he hasn’t seen much box-office success ever since I Hate Luv Storys. But after the success of films like Band Baaja Baarat and Tanu Weds Manu, it looks like the industry has stumbled upon a winning formula.
A trade expert says, “These films had smaller stars but worked because they were seeped in Indianness. And going by the looks of it, MBKD also seems to be following the same track.”
Well, as long as the formula pays off, we don’t mind whether it’s desi or videshi on screen.
