‘The scooter was embarrassing’

It was not exactly what one would call “ideal timing” when Kunal Roy Kapoor got the script of Delhi Belly. The actor was in the middle of directing his own mockumentary The President Is Coming, when he received the offer for the film.

“I had very little idea about what I was doing then but when I got the entire script, I was damn kicked about it. An Aamir Khan Production, the role itself and the fact that it was a film in English was very exciting for me,” he says.
For him, one of the biggest challenges while shooting for the film, was to ride the old beaten up scooter.
“The production sent me the scooter a month before we started shooting and it was very embarrassing to have it parked outside my house (laughs). We did this 10-day workshop, so everyday when we went into the workshop I would arrive early and drive it around to get used to it. It had its own quirks. I have never ridden a bike that much before,” adds Kunal.
