Salman’s protégé comes clean

A lot has been said and written about Zarine Khan’s alleged closeness to her “mentor” Salman Khan. The actress, who shot to limelight with her uncanny resemblance to superstar Katrina Kaif, is at last feeling optimistic about her career, thanks to the omnipotence of the Salman-factor in her life. “I have the talent and the looks, besides a mentor like Salman. How can I possibly go wrong?” she says.
Probe her about her alleged affair with the Dabangg Khan and she shoots back confidently, “People have already assumed that we are in a relationship. Salman is a very good-looking man; I’d be lying if I said that I am not attracted to him. But there’s more to it than mere attraction. I am what I am because of Salman. For me he will always remain the number one.”
The rumours about her and Salman took off after the two were seen together in a number of parties. So is it about being seen with the right person at the right time? “So what if I accompanied him to Manyata’s (Dutt) party? He is a friend and I don’t want to give any explanation about my equation with him,” says Zarine.
