Saif goes back in time
Saif Ali Khan sure seems to be in the mood to experiment with his films. After a zombie comedy (Go Goa Gone) and a gangster flick (Bullet Raja), the actor will now go back in time to essay a character set in the year 1857. The film has been tentatively titled Thugee.
“Although 1857 is the year of India’s first war for independence, Saif’s film won’t be revolve around the Sepoy Mutiny,” informs our source, adding, “In fact, it is going to be an action adventure comic affair. Unlike Mangal Pandey which was a serious film, Saif’s film is based on an entirely different theme.” The actor has had this film in mind for quite some time. “Thugee will be directed by Homi Adjania who will first finish his English film with Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor. In the meantime, Saif too will wrap up his other films, one with Sajid Khan and another with Raj & D.K,” the source adds.
When contacted, Saif confirmed the developments. He said, “Just the very element of an action comic adventure set in 1857 is so exciting. It will be interesting to see how it shapes up. We have a fabulous concept in hand.”
