Rishi, Abhi play father-son
The last time they shared screen space was for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6. After four years now, Abhishek Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor will come together for Umesh Shukla’s next film. Although the makers of the film are tight-lipped about the project, a source informs, “The film is about a father-son duo on the run. Unlike Delhi 6, this is one will see the two actors in a much more boisterous role.”
“Abhishek has been signed for the film already, and it is just a matter of formality before Rishiji officially gives a nod to the film. He has okayed the film in principle,” the source adds.
Film producer Bhushan Kumar gave a better insight into the project saying, “The film is definitely on and it is a family comedy cum drama with a very strong father-son angle to it and an underlying message. Which is why we needed the father to be someone with a very strong and powerful presence on screen. Umesh would be sending out a very strong message. It shouldn’t be mistaken with a social comment though because the narrative is going to be very commercial.”
We’re yet to learn who the other actors in the film are.
