Ranbir is all game for sports

For a change,Ranbir Kapoor is not in the news for the lissome lasses he continues to be spotted with. Recently, the actor took his passion for sports a step ahead by turning brand ambassador for a campaign titled Marks for Sport, for which he will be meeting students from schools and colleges to encourage them to take to sports in a big way. Ranbir feels that the movement will help parents tune their children towards sports, especially if they are born with a natural talent.

“I am honoured to be a part of Marks for Sports because it’s something that I truly believe in. I’ve always been an avid sports fan and I feel that our country needs to take up sports more seriously and not just as a hobby. And as part of this campaign I hope to do just that,” says the actor who will soon be meeting Kapil Sibal, minister for human resources.
Ranbir’s image of a youth icon has prompted the United Nations Office for Sports and Development to rope in the actor for the cause. They feel that sports helps bridge the gaps between people and brings them together on a common ground.
Through this initiative Ranbir hopes to gives sports its due. “It helps breaking mind barriers and makes you respect other’s talents. You also realise the power of a team and learn to tackle both victory and defeat,” he said.
