Ranbir’s choosy about ad deals
While stars in the showbiz industry are only too keen to sign on more brands to their endorsement portfolio, Ranbir Kapoor is a notable exception. Today, Ranbir is the most sought after brand ambassador from Bollywood, only after heavyweights Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan. But industry sources say that he has turned down a whopping 30 brands since taking his first steps in the industry over three years ago.
Says a brand analyst, “Ranbir Kapoor has managed to create a niche for himself in a phenomenally short span of time. With successes in a varied bunch of films cutting across genres, he has added dimensions to his personality. From a boy next door to an urban youth, to even promoting something serious, Ranbir is the face that almost every endorser is considering. And since he appeals to the youth better than anybody else, speaks their language, and also chooses to represent only those brands which appeal to his principles and sensibilities, he is even more exclusive now.”
