Rakhta Charitra 2 postponed

The Viveik Oberoi and Surya starrer Rakhta Charitra 2 that was expected to hit the theatres on November 19 will now be released on
December 3.

Our source said, “Ram Gopal Varma had shot both, Rakhta Charitra and Rakhta Charitra 2, simultaneously. While Rakhta Charitra hit the theatres recently, the sequel was to release in November as the subject of the film would still be fresh in the minds of the public.”
But there was a hitch. “The release of the much awaited last part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is also on November 19. The Hollywood hit has already sparked off immense curiosity amongst Harry Potter fans. And the film’s release is expected to generate equal amount of interest here. The producers felt that it would be wise to push the release of Rakhta Charitra 2 and not take any risk where Potter was concerned,” said our source.
When contacted producer Sheetal Talwar maintained, “The release of Rakhta Charitra 2 has been pushed as it has been made in three languages and the dates for all promotional activities had to match so we decided to release the film later.” — PM
