Not just a glam doll, an actor too

Deepika Padukone may be known for her striking good looks and her high-on-glamour quotient. But she certainly isn’t afraid of roles that are purely performance oriented. While naysayers said taking up Prakash Jah’s Aarakshan would de-glamourise her image, Dippy certainly doesn’t seem to have any compunctions on that front.
“It’s a misconception that glamorous roles don’t involve acting,” she says. “Look at some of the roles Julia Roberts has done: You notice both the way she looks, and her performance.”
