Big deal” is how Deepika Padukone chose to describe her supposedly uncomfortable meeting with Ranbir Kapoor at a special screening of Delhi Belly. There were reports that the former lovers had an awkward moment or two when they ran into each other at the screening, and that Delhi Belly star Imran Khan — who had invited them both — had to step in to smooth things over.

But Deepika says none of this is true. “I cracked up when I read that Imran had to play mediator between Ranbir and me,” say the leggy lass, insisting that the bond between Ranbir and her never ceased to exist. “None of that (supposed awkwardness) happened and it never will. Ranbir and I have moved on in life and we’ve always maintained that we’re okay with each other. Still, there is a certain bond that he and I will always share. Unfortunately, some people out there just want to pick up some ‘spice’ that just doesn’t exist.” — JT
