No leading lady in Akki’s film

Khiladi Akshay Kumar is all set to step into South superstar Mammootty’s shoes as he gears up for his next film, which is a remake of Malayalam film Pokkiri Raja. The Khiladi actor will be playing the role of Mammootty in the remake that is tentatively titled Naam Hai Boss.

Interestingly it is the first time in 21 years that Akshay Kumar will have no leading lady opposite him in a film. “The film has no leading lady opposite Akshay this time. But two newcomers will be launched along with Akshay,” said a source close to the film, which is still in development stages. “The story is such that it does not require a strong female lead,” the source added. Akshay will reunite with Blue director, Anthony D’Souza for the film.
The writers of the film, Sajid-Farhad had earlier said that the soul of the film will remain the same and changes could be made in terms of story and the differing audience tastes.
