No ‘campism’ in Bollywood
Katrina Kaif is facing plenty of questions about the famed “campism” in Bollywood, what with her having seemingly cracked the code, and starring in projects alongside Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman Khan in 2012. But the usually reticent Kat divulged her perspective to us, casting a fairly different perspective on the whole issue. “It’s unfair to segregate actors and their so-called camps,” she says. “Some actors bond well because they have grown up together. Take the case of Abhishek (Bachchan), Uday (Chopra) and now, John (Abraham). Similarly, every actor wants to work with people he or she is comfortable with, has grown up with. There is no hard-and-fast rule that A filmmaker will only work with B actor, unlike what is commonly believed.”
Even if this campism was to exist, implies Kat, it wouldn’t affect her as she is a big enough star in her own right. “I am my own brand and my own competition,” she announces confidently.
