Nargis plays it safe
Like most actresses, Nargis likes to make headlines for her work. The actress who shot to fame after the success of her debut film Rockstar says, “Talking about personal equations isn’t my thing. I am fine with people applauding or critiquing my work, but I don’t like my personal life making headlines.”
But unfortunately for Nargis, more often than not, she is in the news for her alleged liaisons — first with Shahid Kapoor and then with Uday Chopra. The latter even took to a social networking site to confess his love for the actress. “Yes, Uday did take to Twitter. But that was once. Besides, I have no control over what one writes. Everyone has a right to express what he or she wants,” she says.
Buzz was that Nargis was to accompany the family to Switzerland to bring in Uday’s mother Pamela Chopra’s birthday, but had to back out at the last minute due to work commitments. We ask her if wedding with Chopra junior is on the cards. “Right now I am only looking forward to Madras Café and the remake of Sahukeen,” she says brushing aside our question.
It is interesting that at no point did Nargis deny being in a relationship. Incidentally, this was exactly actress Rani Mukerji’s attitude when rumours were rife about her changing equation with Uday’s older brother Aditya. Or are we experiencing a déja vu?
