Working with a veteran like Naseeruddin Shah would faze most directors, but Milan Luthria is certainly not one of them. Milan is working with Naseer on the forthcoming Dirty Picture, which also stars Vidya Balan.

Naseer is known to be a difficult actor on the sets and assistant directors have been at the receiving end of his ire in the past. But Milan says he had an entirely different experience when he interacted with Naseer as an AD for Mahesh Bhatt.
Milan recounts, “When I met Naseer to narrate Dirty Picture, it was quite bizarre. I have been so used to being an assistant director around him, that it felt strange to have him refer to me as the director. Years ago, I had a superb equation with him while working on films like Naajayaz and Sir. Unlike other terrified assistants, he and I connected — maybe because I understood that his ‘tantrums’ were actually protests against an imperfect system.”
Milan adds, “Naseer and Vidya are going to make a great pair.”
