Look who’s trying action thrillers

Priyadarshan has done so many comedy flicks that just his name being associated with a movie gives one the impression that it will be a typical slapstick comedy. However, the filmmaker is trying to dabble in different genres now.
With his upcoming Tezz, he is reportedly making an action thriller. “Priyan sir has made a few dramatic films like Viraasat and Gardish, but this will be a new genre for him too,” says a senior unit member. “He is taking his time with Tezz, he’s shooting it at his own pace. About 50 per cent of the film is complete, and the film looks stylish and sleek,” he added.
Shot mainly in London, Tezz is said to be a remake of the Japanese film Shinkansen Daibakuha. With a terrorism angle thrown in as well, it is a big budget affair.
