King has `200 crore dream

Records are meant to be broken — this could well be Shah Rukh Khan’s mantra this Diwali. For someone who has spent close to two years in making Ra.One and pumped in over `200 crores while watching other Khans churn out blockbuster returns of `100, `150 and `200 crores in the interim, the stage is pretty much set for King Khan to create a new record with his sci-fi superhero action thriller.
Industry insiders say that the mega music launch earlier this week was only the tip of the iceberg. According to a close associate, “SRK is pretty much on the job of making Ra.One Bollywood’s biggest grosser ever. Wait for an elaborate campaign to roll out in the coming weeks.” The film has already been dubbed in Tamil and Telegu and a German and a Chinese version are also in the pipeline. The print count is being touted as the highest ever in Bollywood and the 3D version is expected to further add to the momentum. A trade analyst says, “It won’t be surprising if it shatters Bodyguard’s first week record and then beat the collections 3 Idiots as well.” Well, if that happens then the King will surely have the last laugh.
