Kangna loses a Sanjay, gains one

She may have lost a friend in one Sanjay but she has gained another in a namesake. After falling out of favour with Sanjay Dutt, Kangna Ranaut has moved into fellow Sanjay, and Dutt’s arch nemesis, Sanjay Gupta’s camp. While it could mean that she is blacklisting herself from all future Sanjay Dutt movies, she has also won herself a substantially increased role in Gupta’s next film Shootout At Wadala.
“She was advised by many that she was making a great mistake and a complete boycott from the Dutt camp cannot be good for her, but she had clearly moved on,” says a close associate of the actress.
For Gupta too, this was good news, as the film’s date was nearing and he was still without a leading lady. “Gupta promised Kangna that her part would now have much more meat to it,” says a friend of the director. “He told her that if she could trust him blindly and bail him out, it was his responsibility to pay her back.”
