It’s Sallu’s life, so make it extra large
Of late, everything connected to Salman Khan has been big. No, we aren’t talking about his bulging biceps, but of his upcoming film projects. Having spearheaded a spate of big money spinners like Wanted, Dabangg, Ready and Bodyguard, the makers of Sallu’s forthcoming films are facing a slight predicament: How do they ensure their films are bigger than his previous ones?
“Nothing associated with Sallu can be ‘small’ anymore,” says an eminent trade analyst. “So while Ek Tha Tiger is travelling across continents to beef up its visuals, Sher Khan is positioning itself as the biggest adventure flick to come out of Bollywood. Dabangg 2 has shed its rustic origins for a cosmopolitan hue and Kick is constantly being added to, to make it bigger and better.”
But all this may just come at a cost. The amount of planning that each new Sallu venture requires is tremendous. “Whatever bhai picks up now has to be larger than life,” says an aide. Much like the actor himself.
