It’s all about loving the attention
We like a suave, confident man. And no one seems to be balancing those qualities with just the right dash of humility, as Karan Johar. His much-awaited Agneepath will release on the same day as Reema Kagti’s Aamir Khan starrer Dhuan, but KJo isn’t worried. He’s certain that his film will stand strong despite the competition. “Yes, we will release Agneepath on January 26, 2012, and no, the date isn’t changing,” Karan says. Apart from Agneepath, the actor is also busy with Student Of The Year, about which he says, “The idea was to challenge my own sensibilities as a director.”
But it isn’t just his movies that are keeping KJo in the news. Surprisingly for a behind the camera type of guy, Karan is also receiving offers for a number of prestigious endorsements. “Yes, when you talk about endorsements, it is usually a star that people want to sign, the reason being their reach and popularity. But I now understand I’m as popular as any other successful name from the industry,” he says.
His popular TV show may just be the reason. “My chat show and ad campaigns have allowed me to connect with the audience,” Karan says, adding with a laugh, “I’m as big and famous as an actor. To be honest, I enjoy the attention.”
And while we enjoy watching you Karan, being the only director to enjoy so much of the limelight’s sure got its perks, right?
