Imran’s attitude is Ranbir’s gain
It was a perfect fit. “Chocolate Boy” Imran Khan to endorse a brand of chocolates. But the brand managers didn’t account for Imran’s attitude problems and his high-headed behaviour. Imran, who has hitherto always come across as a professional actor, apparently demanded exorbitant amount of money for doing the advertisement campaign, and then also started putting them off with his demands. With the end result that they decided to sack him and get Ranbir Kapoor instead.
“The company was paying Imran much more than his market fee. But despite that, he kept interfering in the ad’s shoot incessantly. He was behaving like his uncle Aamir, demanding perfection and discussing even the minutest of details that weren’t even planned yet,” says a source.
When the team got irked that they couldn’t cope with Imran’s unreasonable demands, they got Ranbir Kapoor instead. “Ranbir is a youth icon and he fits the theme. Not only is he very popular, he is also very professional,” says a source from the marketing team of the chocolate company.
We wonder if that’s a compliment to Ranbir or an insult to Imran…
