‘I was destined to play heroine’
Kareena Kapoor is touted as one of the most viable heroines of the Indian film industry. So, when she turned down director Madhur Bhandarkar’s prestigious project Heroine, Madhur was heart broken.
But fate had nothing but Kareena in its mind and the film at the end came back to Kareena. “I was destined to play the heroine in Heroine,” smiles a confident Kareena.
The actress admits that she is destiny’s child. “I might have gotten things on a platter but that never stopped me from working hard on them. I made the most of those opportunities. And the rewards were two-fold,” she adds. While three of her recent films — Agent Vinod with Saif Ali Khan, Ra.One with Shah Rukh Khan and Kurbaan (also with Saif) flopped in the box-office, their performance never affected Kareena’s star power.
The actress considers herself fortunate to be a part of Heroine. “From performance oriented films to playing a glamour element, I’ve done all kinds of films, but I can confidently say that it is Heroine that will do justice to my real talent,” she adds.
Besides films, another thing that has been keeping Bebo in news is her impending marriage with Saif, and whether or not she will continue working in the film industry after the wedding. Understandably, the actress rebuffs the question. “Acting is my passion. I’m a career oriented person and that is one thing that will never change,” she adds.
