Haunted is an original, say its lead actors
There have been so many invisible horror films in recent times that nobody would even notice if a couple of them are exact rip-offs of each other. The latest to join the list, Haunted, already has its lead pair screaming themselves hoarse about how their offering is an original one.
“Puhleeze do not undermine Viki sir’s work by suspecting if it is a copy. No, it is not,” was lead actor Mahakshay’s defence. “Everything that you see in the film is a mastermind of Viki sir and (writer) Amin Hajee. They haven’t copied anything from anywhere, be it Korean or Japanese cinema.”
Cast opposite Mahakshay Tia Bajpai, who was even more vehement in defending the film. “Ultimately, when it comes to a horror film, aap utna hi chillayenge, bhaagenge or royenge,” she says. “These are basic things, be it in the West or the East. If someone makes a horror film in Japan, he would have the same brains as us and we would all think along the same lines, right?” she demanded.
Try comprehending the meaning of those words. It might even be a more worthwhile activity than watching Haunted.
