Ginny delights in Aamir’s delay
The postponing of Aamir Khan’s Talaash may have caused dismay among eager fans, but for Genelia D’Souza it has spelt good news.
After the Aamir Khan starrer’s June 1 release date was shifted to November, Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore quickly moved its release to that slot instead — leaving its prior June 15 date free. While it seemed as though the Shahid Kapur-Priyanka Chopra film, Teri Meri Kahaani, would occupy the vacant spot, that advantage will now go to Ginny’s It’s My Life.
The June 15 release date is sure to be accompanied by a sigh of relief on the part of both Ginny and her director Anees Bazmee, especially since the film has been on the backburner for over two years now. In the interim, Anees went on to make No Problem and Ready while Ginny wrapped up her numerous assignments down South and Force and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.
“With Genelia’s stock having risen since the time she made It’s My Life and Anees’ blockbuster success with Ready, this can only mean a positive reception for the film,” opines a trade analyst.
What with her other project, Rock The Shaadi, on hold, we’re sure Ginny is glad that her It’s My Life will finally see the light of the day — or the dark of a movie theatre.
