Farah’s wish denied

If all had gone according to plan, then Farah Khan’s Happy New Year would have featured Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan. This is Farah’s dream project, for which she even reconciled with her friend-turned-foe-turned friend SRK.

But while Abhishek seems keen to do the film with Farah and is trying to work out his dates, John — despite being a friend of Farah’s — may not be able to oblige her. The reason, in John’s camp’s words at least: Date issues. Happy New Year will go on the floors early next year, which is when John will be busy promoting Race 2, his associates tell us.
“We were keen to have John on board but he is unable to give us the required dates,” says a source connected to HNY. Apparently, John tried to accommodate Farah’s film into his schedule. “It’s a good film and he is very fond of Farah. But it doesn’t look like it’ll happen,” a friend of John’s said.
By January 2013, SRK will be done with his lot of films and Farah can’t really postpone the film as she has the dates of the other actors. John’s opting out means Farah will have to hunt for a replacement. Now let’s see who fills in for John.
