Ekta ko (censor pe) gussa kyun aata hai?
Ekta Kapoor may well be one of the most powerful producers in the country, but the censor board’s stand over airing the promos of her latest film Kya Super Cool Hain Hum on television, has the diva stumped.
Even flying back and forth to Delhi to meet with the officials didn’t have much effect and Ekta was forced to compromise, where a more sedate trailer will be aired on television, while the no holds barred version will be released only on the Internet. The board reportedly felt that KSCHH promo had a little too much of sexual innuendo.
Not one to take this thwarting of her plans lying down, Ekta questioned what she considered the officials’ double standards: “We’ve had films like Delhi Belly that had foul language and double entendre in its dialogues. That time it was okay to publicise the film on TV? I get a feeling that people like targeting my films and me all the time,” Ekta huffed.
Ekta admitted that she was very unhappy about the trouble surrounding her film. “Why create a controversy out of nothing? Agreed my films do have certain controversial elements but why do I have to labelled a controversial producer?” she asked.
