Dippy’s not the 100-crore type
Deepika Padukone does not like being called the 100-crore girl. After the roaring box office success of her films Cocktail and Race 2, the actress has been feeling the pressure of living up to the turnover numbers. So Dippy has been turning to Shah Rukh Khan, asking the superstar how best to deal with the pressure.
“I am confident about my strengths as an actor but I don’t know how much these numbers help make or break an actor. Besides, I don’t like being called the 100-crore actress. From time to time I talk to Shah Rukh Khan about these sky-high expectations. He helps me deal with it and warns me against getting carried away by them,” admits Dippy who has been bonding with King Khan on the sets of Chennai Express.
The actress has two big budget films — Chennai Express and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani — lined up for release this year and is uncomfortable with the idea of high expectations.
Hopefully her friend-cum-mentor SRK has helped her calm her nerves.
