Being single is fun
Director Nagesh Kuknoor maybe churning out emotional movies but at heart, he is a foodie and loves to travel. Nagesh Kuknoor says that the perks of being a film director is that he gets to expose virgin locales in his films, travel around the world and also taste the local food.
His love for travel is evident in his movies. Be it the golden sands of the Rajasthan desert or the massive Himalayas in Dor, the Northern Part of Thailand in his Bombay To Bangkok. In Aashayein, one will get to see the beauty of Puducherry. Tasveer 8x10 was shot entirely in Canada.
“That’s the beauty of this profession,” says Kuknoor. “You get to shoot in different lands and their cultures. I am not a studio guy for me the joy comes from shooting on real locales. Location is a character by itself. It’s an important part of the film. Plus I enjoy having the local food. Once I am out of India I say goodbye to desi khana,” he reveals.
While he is busy with his heart rendering movies and travelling we remind him of his bachelor status. “My personal life is almost non-existent. I have too many stories to tell. What I don’t do in real life, I do it in my films. There’s nobody to tie the knot with. If you really feel the need you will pursue it. Maybe that means I don’t need it now. Being single is exciting enough,” he says.
