‘Bad’ comeback for Sanju
Sanjay Dutt has been investing all his energies to revive his lost stardom, but nothing seems to have worked so far. The actor, who had pinned his hope on Rascals, to a large extent, fell flat on his face when the film bombed at the box office. But not one to wallow in self-pity for too long, Sanjay has gathered his wits again and is looking forward to the release of Agneepath where he plays the bad man after a long hiatus.
“I am making a new beginning with Agneepath. There is something about playing the bad guy, that I find challenging,” says the actor, who won several accolades in the past for his negative characters in superhits such as Khalnayak and Vaastav.
Those close to Sanjay have been talking about his growing disinterest in run-off-the-mill roles, which are being offered to him. “Sanjay has always been known as a great actor with an excellent comic timing as well, but post Rascals he has been rejecting similar offers. Now he is concentrating only on quality roles that are rich in content,” says a source.
His negative shades, however, seem to be restricted to the screen only as in real life the actor is on a bury-the-hatchet spree with his contemporaries.
Well, as long he keeps playing his cards well, there’s not much for him to fear.
