Award ceremonies are hogwash for Ajay

That Aamir Khan doesn’t believe in awards is well known. Now joining the bandwagon is Ajay Devgn, who says awards ceremonies are nothing but hogwash. This, despite the fact that the actor has had four hits over the past year, receiving acclaim for each of his roles.
“I don’t like attending award functions,” he asserts. “I think they give awards to people who are interested in attending the function. When I don’t attend them, the award is given to other actors. I don’t like facing that kind of pressure. If I attend one function, I have to attend them all. So, I just avoid them.” Does that mean Ajay doesn’t enjoy the appreciation? The actor says, “I do enjoy it. It feels good when you are appreciated for your performance, but then it has to be a genuine gesture.”
“I was lucky to get good films and was fortunate that they did well,” he adds.
